Pila A
The Pila Vase by Atipico: all the finesse of porcelain stoneware in a unique design. Porcelain stoneware steals the show for the Pila low vase in an unconventional way that brings out its beauty. First displayed in 2014 at "The Future is Handmade" exhibition at the Kalmar Museum of Art in Sweden, it's never lost a beat sinc capturing the gazes of adoration from its spectators by virtue of its intrinsically elegant features and joyous display. Created by Italian designers from the Zaven design studio, this home design complement plays on shapes, creates new forms and strings together new balances, giving life to an irregular and destructured figure. Its inspiration comes from the natural and precious chaos that comes from daily life, whether from appointments, meetings or relationships. The vase's low structure encompasses the cheer and confusion of what goes on after dinner with friends, between dirty dishes in the sink or the fun that goes into planning after-dinner events. The effect it gives off is exclusive and ironic: Pila provides a charming, playful and fresh appeal. While at the same time, it offers a stable and durable presence that will add a hint of beauty to both home and work environments. Its innovative design comes about from the overlapping of discs with varying thickness and size, creating a sense of movement that spices up any layout. Thinking outside the box isn't something that only the vase's appearance does: its intended use also helps it stand out from more classic vases. It isn't meant to hold water, liquid or bouquets of flowers, but rather to be displayed by itself, flaunting its decorative prowess without the need for additional help. Alternatively, it can also hold whatever your imagination can draw up: from dry flowers to candles, from coloured pencils to a jar that can hold a succulent plant or charming bonsai. Its main role is not to hold something, but rather to offer up its beauty and elegance in neutral colours in order to spice up any room or surface where it's placed.
